The Spookiest Time of the Year

The leaves are rustling, the shutters are rattling, and the ghosts are whispering in your ear….

To get your hands on some spooky reads for the spookiest time of the year!

That wasn’t originally going to be a rhyme, but then it rhymed, so it’s a rhyme. Another thing that rhymes is ‘Ready for a cozy book-nook fright? – Get your copy of Things That Go Whoosh in the Night!’ I know, I’m just full of good rhymes today. Stop me before I keep going. Seriously, just follow the link and get your copy to appease the ghosts. DO IT FOR THE GHOSTS. They won’t stop whispering promotional poetry in my head until I reach my pre-order goals.

In case you couldn’t tell, I specifically planned the release of Things That Go Whoosh in the Night to coincide with Halloween. The book is a crossover between Victorian urban fantasy and paranormal romance, with a bit of a spooky thriller vibe, complete with shadowy stalkers, psychological trauma, delightful goosebumps, and things that go bump – I mean whoosh – in the night. And it’s only $0.99 for a limited time, so get it before the price goes up!

I’m already making great headway on the sequel, with the hopes of releasing it VERY shortly after the first, so no one has to wait around for the conclusion to this thrilling duology (isn’t that the coolest word? Duology.)

Hope everyone has had a fantastic start to Fall! Make it a little better by curling up with a new book!

Typewriter Tantrums – And Free Ebook!

It’s here, people – my handy-dandy, trusty-rusty newsletter! It’s been in the works for the past couple weeks, and though I’ve already started some preliminary growing of the mailing list in anticipation of its actual launch date, now there’s official content to launch – so that, you know, the people who sign up will actually receive the goodies that I promise. Such as the free ebook I’m giving away to anyone who signs up!

I know what you’re thinking (at least, if you’re anything like me) – oh golly, not another newsletter to sign up for.  HOW MANY mailing lists already drop presents in my inbox every day?! But I’m a firm non-believer in spam, and so this newsletter will be short and sweet and will only be going out once a month – occasionally twice IF there is something momentous to announce such as a new book release or an exceptional promotion. Trust me, I don’t want to be obnoxious any more than you want to be spammed. What I DO want is to form a more personal connection to my fans, which a newsletter allows me to do, and I’m super excited to offer some exclusive goodies there as a token of appreciation for my loyal followers!

Also, some of the hottest author opportunities right now require such things, and if I’m at all serious about expanding this as a career, and being ABLE to spend more time writing the books that you all want to read, then such things become necessary (but I’m having a lot of fun with the whole newsletter-building thing too, like, more than I thought I would). So please, if at all willing to receive a concise once-a-month update in your inbox with the latest from yours truly, which will include book deals and recommendations by other authors as well, PRETTY PLEASE consider signing up for my newsletter. Did I mention you’ll receive a free ebook for doing so? Once you’ve confirmed your subscription, you will receive a welcome email with my free novelette Highway Souls, which isn’t available anywhere else. Here’s a peek at the cover:

Not too shabby a deal, right? You can sign up via the link in the sidebar of this blog, or simply click this link.

Thank you all for your continued fandom and support!

As quickly as he had blazed a determined trail cross-country, he turned around and set Twin Cradle back in his crosshairs. I’m coming, Rheia.

He tore back across state lines, bought a shovel, and pulled over by the cluster of memorials he had so recently paid his respects to on his way out of town. Without pausing for any ceremony or moment of silence this time, he trudged straight out into the field and started digging.

He dug one hole, then another. An erratic dot-to-dot of back-breaking excavation. From a bird’s eye view, the field became a constellation of graves.

Empty graves.

Places where Rheia wasn’t.

A Deathly Light Chapters

Yesterday I finished writing Chapter 14 of A Deathly Light, and today I put together a little Table of Contents page, because I love playing around with fun little extras. Thought I’d share it with the class!

Remember, the big cover reveal will be going down on March 31st. Don’t miss it!
